Techniques for Radon Testing

Radon Testing

It is very important to know what exactly radon testing is, before we talk about testing techniques. Radon is a colorless, odorless and radioactive gas. It comes from the decay of radioactive elements such as uranium, thorium and radium. A harmful gas effects badly and cause many health issues. We offer many services through which you can record the level of radon in your basement.

Radon gas is very harmful to human health and it can cause many serious health issues such as lung cancer. It is present in soil and rocks as the radioactive material decomposes. However, we cannot detect the level of radon with human sense. For this purpose, special equipment is used such as radon detecting kits.

Radon is present in the basement of your homes, school, offices and hospitals. Because the basement is fully packed and the amount of radon gas is growing vigorously in these places. However, you do not need to worry about it. We provide a radon mitigation system to solve your all problems. Radon Testing helps you to record the exact amount of radon in your basement.

There are two ways to test the level of radon.

Short -term tests

Short -term tests can perform within a week. For testing of radon gas, different short-term devices are used. Charcoal patches are used to detect radon levels on short -term basis.  Alpha track detector is an instrument that is also used to detect the amount of radon. After radon testing, samples are sent to the lab to detect the level of radon.

Long -term tests

Long -term tests take time for more than 90 days. These tests are very helpful for detecting radon gas in your house, offices and hospitals. The electret ion chamber is used for long-term radon testing. It is the best radon testing kit and it gives us more efficient results than any other radon testing kits.

We are here to provide services for the installation of a radon mitigation system to reduce the level of radon gas. For this purpose, drilling, piping assembly and fan installation are basic steps. Drilling is done with the help of mechanical drill bits and it is a time taking process. In this process, the hole is dug -out to reach the basement to record the level of radon gas. After drilling, the Piping assembly is an indoor assembly that helps to eradicate radon gas from your basement. The size of the piping assembly is very important and its diameter according to the inlet and outlet of the fan to prevent the leakage of radon gas. Lastly, Fan installation helps to remove the radon gas. The main purpose of fan installation is to remove the trapped gas from the house. We provide fan-casing services that act as a protective sheet in every climate condition. After fan installation, outdoor piping is inserted vertically upward which helps to remove trapped gas. After installation of radon mitigation system, radon testing is done to ensure there is no problem.
